Who We are

Kind footprint is a U.S.-based nonprofit with a grassroots Humanitarian aid project in Colombia called Empower the Barrios. With our project ‘Empower the Barrios’ we are seeking to reach families with limited resources in neighborhoods of strata 1 and 2 of Medellin and the metropolitan area. With more than 250,000 meals delivered with a transparency of %100 and an effectiveness of 97.6%, we are improving people’s quality of life without administrative expenses.

Description

In this volunteer role, you will demonstrate your expertise in a variety of accounting practices, including accounts receivable and payable, reconciling the general ledger, approving expense reports, and conducting audits. To succeed in this position, you will be highly accurate and efficient, adding value to the accounting team and upholding our organizations reputation.

Please Note: This is an UNPAID role. Financially at least, you will receive payment in a whole range of other forms. Main activities but not limited to

  • Generate financial reports
  • Help with audits
  • Review and approve expense reports
  • Review and reconcile the general ledger regularly
  • Contribute to forecasting and budget planning sessions
  • Maintain compliance with all aplicable regulations
  • Maintain constant communication with the managment team
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve shared goals

Personal specification for Accountant

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or relevant field required
  • Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases
  • Superior math skills and an analytical mind
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks and financial statements
  • Consistent, accurate, thorough, and detail-oriented
  • Exceptional organizational skills and aptitude for numbers
  • Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Polished phone and email etiquette
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
  • at least one year of experience in US tax laws

Time commitment: 2-4 hours/week on volunteer’s schedule
