Who We are

Kind footprint is a U.S.-based nonprofit with a grassroots Humanitarian aid project in Colombia called Empower the Barrios. With our project ‘Empower the Barrios’ we are seeking to reach families with limited resources in neighbourhoods of strata 1 and 2 of Medellin and the metropolitan area. Our projects aim to provide effective and sustainable support to the people of Medellin and covers a wide range of areas including education, food aid, healthcare and financial support. With more than 250,000 meals delivered, a transparency of 100% and an effectiveness of 97.6%, we are improving people’s quality of life without administrative expenses.


We are looking for a Copywriter to volunteer to join our team. We are looking for creative, team orientated people with great writing and research skills to help us to spread our message across all media platforms. We are looking for somebody who can write clear, concise, informative copy that conveys the message and direction of our projects. The copywriter will work with a variety of projects to develop messages and create new ideas.

This role will give you the chance to work with a growing and innovative team of volunteers from a whole range of cultural and professional backgrounds. The team is young, dynamic and full of people who are inspired to use their skills to change the world for the better. The organization is also motivated by the idea of using their resources to a high degree of efficiency and you will have the opportunity to see this work being doing at first hand.

Please Note: This is an UNPAID role. Financially at least, you will receive payment in a whole range of other forms. Main activities but not limited to

  • Play an active role in content creation across all our media platforms
  • Create concise copy that conveys our message in a simultaneously informative and engaging way
  • Use knowledge of SEO’s to maximise your copy’s reach
  • Conduct your own high quality research to ensure that our content remains relevant to a diverse audience
  • Support scriptwriting for ads, audio and video
  • Liaise with other members of the creative department to ensure consistency in our brand content
  • Attend internal and external meetings as required

Personal specification for Copy Writer

  • Proven Experience as a copywriter or in a related role
  • Knowledge of online content creation
  • Exceptional writing and research skills
  • Energetic, creative approach with an ability to develop new ideas
  • An understanding of non-profit organizations or experience working with vulnerable communities a plus
  • Flexible approach to working
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-awareness and able to use initiative
